Building Nation Through Education, since 1941
"Education for all - irrespective of caste, creed, religion or class- I am committed to the cause of education." This was the vision of the founder Late Shri G.L. Salwan.
Late Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan, founder, Salwan Education Trust was born in the year 1902 in a remote village of Kartarpur, Punjab, in the family of Pt. Mool Raj Salwan. The family shifted to Peshawar in the erstwhile undivided India.
Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan ji, a revered visionary and philanthropist, dedicated his life to advancing education, believing fervently in its transformative power. His 95 years of profound wisdom, infectious enthusiasm, and disciplined way of life were always a source of inspiration for the youth. At the tender age of 9, he displayed remarkable courage by joining Satyagrahis in protesting against the ban on Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s work.

The History of Salwan Education Trust dates back to 5th December, 1941.
Established on 5 December 1941, Salwan Education Trust has been a beacon of value-based education for over eight decades, guided by the timeless motto “Service Before Self.” Founded by the visionary philanthropist Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan, the Trust began its educational journey in Peshawar (erstwhile undivided India) with the establishment of Salwan Sanatan Dharam High School for Boys and Girls in 1941.
After Partition, the Trust continued its mission in Delhi with the establishment of landmark institutions including Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Salwan Girls Senior Secondary School and Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar. Over the decades, the Trust expanded its educational footprint across Delhi NCR with institutions dedicated to academic excellence, innovation, research and holistic development.
